Surf lessons start at 1.5 hours but we can make custom extended lessons if you would like that. We suggest to bring sunscreen, a towel and of course a smile. All lessons include a rash guard, board rental and surfboard leash. We have 3 different surf spots we use to ensure the best experience. All three locations are searchable on google maps and we will always get in contact with you to let you know which one it will be. In the winter time the surfing locations will be Pua'ena Point and Ka'iaka beach Park. In the summer we will surf at Chuns Reef. We take all ages surfing and you do not need to know how to swim in order to take a lesson. We encourage all ages old and young to try surfing and all levels of athletic and physical capability.
The lesson starts on the beach, where we will do a brief rundown of ocean safety, surfing etiquette and the 4 step process we use to help people stand up on their board. We have developed our own 4 step process to help people better understand how to stand up on a surfboard. It has proven to work very well with a 99.9% success rate of getting our guests up and riding. We will teach you about the reefs, currents and wind patterns just so you feel comfortable when you are in the water. Our goal is to provide you with all the best tips and tricks. This way you have the highest amount of confidence and comfort in the ocean.

Ka'iaka Bay Beach Park Location instructions:
Search Ka'iaka bay beach park on google maps. When you turn into the park drive all the way to the back right corner of the park and find a parking stall by the bathrooms. Call your instructor when parking.
Chuns Reef Location instructions:
Search Chuns Reef on google maps. Look for where all the cars are lined up opposing the ocean access, find a parking spot. Call your instructor when you arrive and he will help you find him.
Pua'ena Point meeting Location:
Search puaena point on google maps. When you turn into puaena point park drive all the way to the end of the park entrance. Park as close as you can to the round about at the end of the long entrance near the ocean. Call your instructor when you find parking.

All lessons are locked meaning no one will be added to your lesson that is not in your group.

ALL INSTRUCTORS ARE LIFEGUARD CERTIFIED AND BORN IN HAWAII. WE HAVE AVAILABILITY EVERYDAY STARTING FROM 8AM TO 6PM. We are located on Oahu's North Shore which is about 40 - 60 minutes away from Waikiki. There is a bus route that will get you Get there. The Bus - Oahu's public transportation reaches the North Shore, and takes 1.5-2 hours. The #52 bus departs Ala Moana Center and travels through the center of the island, ending in Haleiwa. Another route is located here. There is a direct bus departing from Alakea St + S Hotel St and arriving at Kamehameha Hwy + Pohaku Loa Way.
Photographer Available
A professional photographer can be provided upon request. There is no extra charge unless you would like to purchase the pictures. This way you can check out your pictures before you buy them! We will give you a flat rate for all of the pictures depending on group size. Please request a photographer at least 24 hr in advance to lesson at 808-690-3121 or dfc.fromhawaii@gmail.com. Pictures are always a great way to share your learning to surf experience.
